Review
Minimal yet compelling compositions characterize Cedric van Eenoo’s abstract expressionist paintings. Through
vivid impasto and subtle manipulation of monochrome texture, an earnest search for truth and purity pervades the
art. In unique visual rhythms, rich layers of paint generate a sense of introspection with rare elegance. It is a
complex but meticulous artistic production. Cedric van Eenoo’s distinctive vision materializes from an evocative and
methodical technique: vibrant pale tints, sophisticated imperfections, raw surfaces entwined with uneven scratches
and light-tone marks define his singular style of expression. In the process, white space reveals itself as the
fundamental formula to an elaborate substance. The medium, practice and philosophical approach resonate with
coherence to convey profound impressions. Inspiration originates from deep-seated themes and the sincere desire
to address emotional matters with respect and humility. As a response, intense vibrations emanate from the
artworks, engaging the viewer in a contemplative experience. What is particularly captivating in the delicate
arrangements is their apparent quietness and sensitive nature. The result is nuanced, intricate in essence; it appears
constantly in search of balancing structure, form and aesthetic latitude. Standing as windows to a divergent
dimension, Cedric van Eenoo’s emotive white paintings communicate absolute and passionate sensations with
striking grace.
