THE PRINCE STREET GALLERY NATIONAL ANNUAL JURIED EXHIBITION

Every year The Prince Street Gallery Annual Juried Competition is open to all applicants working in two-dimensional media. Past jurors have included prominent artists such as Philip Pearlstein, Irving Sandler, Yvonne Jacquette, Robert Berlind, Susanna Coffey, William Bailey, Lois Dodd, Graham Nickson, Stuart Shils and Robert Birmelin. Prince Street Gallery is pleased to present this year’s juried competition:

PRINCE STREET GALLERY 11TH ANNUAL JURIED COMPETITION

LORI BOOKSTEIN, JUROR

Lori Bookstein is a curator, collector and art dealer in New York City. She was the director of Salander-O’Reilly Galleries for ten years before opening her own gallery, Lori Bookstein Fine Art, in 1997, which celebrated its twentieth anniversary in 2016. She opened Bookstein Projects on the Upper East Side in the fall of last year.  A graduate of Cornell University, she is actively involved in the President’s Council of Cornell Women, and is an active board member of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, and the International Medical Corps.

ELIGIBILITY  Open to artists 18 + living in the USA. Original paintings, drawings, prints, and mixed media only. No giclees, digital prints, videos or photographs will be accepted.

DIMENSIONS:  Work, including frame, must not exceed 36 inches in any direction, and should be wired, labeled, and ready to hang. The maximum size of accepted work is 36 inches, this size should include the frame. Height is always given before width, regardless of whether the work is vertical or horizontal.

MAILED ENTRIES:  For framed works on paper, plexiglass must be used instead of glass.

ENTRIES:  Entry forms must be complete and submitted online only. When you have completed the form, you will be directed to a secure PayPal site. It is not necessary to open a PayPal account, you will be able to pay the entry fee with any credit card. Application is not complete until payment has been received.

ENTRY FEES:  Non-refundable fee of $40 for 1 – 3 works, $5 for each additional piece. Maximum for 6 entries is $55. While there are no handling fees, artists are responsible for all shipping costs.

SALES:  Prince Street Gallery takes no commission on sales. Label work that is not for sale “NFS”.

SUBMISSION   Image requirements are: JPEGS at 72 dpi only, a minimum of 1000 pixels wide and 600 pixels tall, not to exceed 1 MB file size for any individual image. Please make the filename for your JPEGS as follows LAST name_FIRST name_ followed by letters that correspond to the order of your image uploads, ie. degas_ed_A.jpg, degas_ed_B.jpg or cassat_mary_a.jpg, cassat_mary_b.jpg, etc. artwork title is optional. Only use letters, underscore or dashes and numbers in the file name, do not use spaces or special characters such as !”/)(:#;&$ in the image file names.

DELIVERY AND PICK-UP:  Deadline for receiving shipped work: Tuesday, December 7, 2018. Deadline for receiving hand-delivered work: Friday, December 21 & Sat., December 22, 2018. Late arriving work cannot be hung. Work that is shipped must arrive in a reusable container, including a prepaid computer-generated UPS or FEDEX return shipping label. No U.S. Postal Service returns. Do not send stamps, cash, or credit card info for return of work. Artist must cover all shipping costs. Any work not picked up after one month will be disposed of as the gallery sees fit.

Be sure to upload all images before paying. The Prince Street Gallery reserves the right to reject inaccurately represented work.

EVENT SCHEDULE

Artist Notification   The gallery will make every effort to notify applicants of acceptance by October 23-27, 2018
Hand delivery of work: Friday, December 21 & Sat., December 22, 2018
Receiving shipped work: Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2018
Show dates: Wednesday, January 2 – Saturday, January 26, 2019
Reception: Saturday, January 19, 3 – 6 pm
Pick up hand-delivered work: Sat., Jan. 26, 12-8 pm; Sun. Jan. 27, 11 – 4 pm; Tues., Jan. 29, 11 – 6 pm. or regular gallery hours: 11 – 6 pm.
UPS/FedEx return of shipped work: Tues., Jan. 29.
